Welcome from the Practice Managers’ Group Chair – Lisa Hartley

It is a great pleasure and honour to extend to you a warm invitation to attend the Practice Managers’ Annual Conference, to be held in the vibrant city of Melbourne from Sunday 20-22 November 2016 at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre.

We look forward to welcoming Practice Managers and allied professionals from across Australia, New Zealand and beyond. This exciting conference will give you a platform to discover novel opportunities, reacquaint with colleagues, meet new friends and broaden your knowledge.

The conference continues to evolve and improve with input from our attendees, making an already great conference even more spectacular. We thank you for your input in the past and we ask you to continue providing your valuable insights to ensure we develop relevant and thought provoking program.

We are working hard to build an exciting program that will challenge, inspire and invigorate you as you invest time away from the day-to-day challenges of your workplace in your own professional development.

We aim to assemble a mix of speakers who will shed light on innovative research topics and issues that shape our field today, with an emphasis on sharing ideas and experiences that are applicable to Practice Management. We are once again fortunate to have a number of RANZCO Fellows present to us from a doctor’s perspective.

We will also be holding another Practice Managers Dinner as this is a great opportunity to really get to know some fellow practice managers and associates. Details can be found below.

Practice Managers Program

News Flash: AAPM CPD Points

We are excited to announce for this year, AAPM CPD points* have been allocated to the Practice Managers Conference. These points will be allocated on completion of the attendance and will need to be applied for on an individual basis with proof of having attending the conference, in which RANZCO will provide as an electronic letter after the conference. CPD points are not automatically added to the Practice Manager’s AAPM membership profile. Practice Managers will need to use the self-service area of the website and add them manually. Further details can be found on the AAPM website.

* RANZCO Practice Managers’ Annual Conference 2016 has been allocated 2 (two) AAPM CPD points per 1 (one) hour of education by The Australian Association of Practice Management Ltd (AAPM)

Update: Practice Managers Dinner


The Practice Managers dinner will take place at Left Bank Melbourne located on Southbank nearby the scenic Yarra River on 21 November from 7pm – 9pm. This includes a two-course meal and two-hour drink package. Further details about the venue can be found here.

Places for the dinner are limited so please register quickly to make sure you don’t miss out. The dinner will cost $35 per person. Partners are very welcome to attend. A big thank you to Surgical Partners for partially sponsoring the dinner.

Now available: Practice Managers Online Chat Forum

With much anticipation, we are delighted to announce the Practice Manager’s Online Chat Forum is now available here on the Practice Manager’s page.

The initiative comes in response to member feedback and provides a new opportunity to network with peers.

Available to RANZCO Practice Manager Associates, the space is intended to be a useful resource to be able to freely discuss about all things related to practice management – and more.

To get started, simply send an email to to request for your login details.

The login panel can be found on the upper right side of this page. Once logged in, you will be able to view the discussions, create threads on new topics, reply to existing threads and generally engage with other members independently of physical location and schedule.

Non-members cannot see or take part in the Online Chat Forum. If you are not already a member and wish to sign up or know of somebody who is interested to sign up, please contact the RANZCO office for details.
