About this workshop

The RANZCO General Practitioner (GP) Workshop is open to all GPs and is free to attend. GPs will hear from a number of RANZCO Fellows and RACGP Past President, Dr Claire Jackson, on a range of practical topics designed to assist with the management of patient care.
From 1 November 2016, Medicare benefits will be available for the testing of diabetic retinopathy with a non-mydriatic retinal camera. Patients with medically diagnosed diabetes will be eligible to receive Medicare benefits for the test once every 2 years. Patients of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent with medically diagnosed diabetes will be eligible to receive Medicare benefits for the test once every 12 months. There will be a session dedicated to the use of the Fundus camera to assist GPs wishing to carry out testing of their patients.

About this workshop

The RANZCO Optometry Workshop is open to all optometrists. There is a $60 registration fee and refreshments will be served on arrival and during a 30-minute afternoon tea break. Optometrists will hear from a number of RANZCO Fellows on a range of topics centred around collaborative care, referral pathways and best patient outcomes.

Three RANZCO referral pathways will be showcased; all three referral pathways will be made available to all on the RANZCO website. The workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn more about these referral pathways and ask questions of the Fellows who have been involved in their formulation.
