Does anyone have a “secret” or “trick of the trade” to get patients to bring their referrals with them (or have them sent prior) to their appointment whether they be new patients or regulars who have been coming for a very long time. We have had a bad run of this of late. Most patients seem to think it is our responsibility to get this for them even though they are told at the time of making the appointment they will need to bring a new referral.
We already have a Practice Brochure with a section on referrals to remind patients.
We have a couple of sentences dedicated to this on our Recall letters.
We also have notices in our waiting rooms.
We also have a note at the bottom of our appointment cards which is highlighted yet they still seem to manage not to bring a referral.
Is there anything we are missing? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
